About
The Qatar Ministry of Transport (MoT) is the government ministry responsible for transport policy and strategy in Qatar. Minister is HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani.
The MoT's role in eVTOL is strategic — distinct from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), which holds operational and airworthiness authorization power. The MoT operates under the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the MoT Strategy 2025–2030.
On 15 November 2025, the Minister witnessed the trial of the EHang EH216-S autonomous eVTOL ahead of its public 17 November 2025 flights between Port of Doha and Katara. The MoT release of 15 November 2025 framed the trial as a milestone for Qatar National Vision 2030 transport objectives.
No standalone Qatar-specific eVTOL regulation has been published by the MoT or QCAA as of 20 May 2026.
